Papier D'armenie in Rose

  • In the late 19th-century, Frenchman Auguste Ponsot traveled to Armenia, where he observed the practice of burning tree resin as a room deodorizer in Armenian households. Teaming with the French pharmacist Henri Rivier back in Paris, they discovered that dissolving the resin in alcohol created a permeating, long-lasting aroma.
  • Use these paper air fresheners to clear the air in the kitchen and bathroom, or anytime you wish to create a warm, welcoming aroma in any room.

Tear out a single strip of paper according to the perforations and fold it accordion-style, creating 5-7 segments. Light one end and quickly blow it out, placing the strip on a heat-resistant dish or surface to allow it to burn slowly. The paper will burn for about 2-5 minutes and the scent should last about 24-48 hours, depending on the size of the room.

A strip of paper may also be tucked into your favorite old book to ward off mustiness, or in your sock drawer for a pleasant smell.
